Brand Imagery
  • The coloured swirls used within the logo are called the motif. The motif can be used separately from the logo as a graphic.
  • The motif can’t be distorted -it should always be enlarged in proportion -but it can be rotated.
  • It can also be bled off-page or used in a white-only version.
  • Our logo’s colour palette and typeface relates to the brand colours of Dorset County Council and the circular motif reflects the dynamism and progressive outlook of the Low Carbon programme.
  • Please make sure the logo is: 1. Always used in its correct colours 2 Never rotated or distorted 3. Never recreated, especially with a different typeface 4. Always showing enough contrast with its background 5. Always used with the correct isolation area (see below)
  • Black-only and whiteout versions of the logo are available.
  • The logo always needs clear space around it so it’s not too close to the edge of a page or another logo (see dual branding, below). This clear space is the isolation area. It’s equivalent to the height of two ‘Ds’ in ‘DORSET’.
  • The isolation area applies to dual branding too. Please ensure the Low Carbon Dorset logo is on the outside of any dual branding logo arrangement, either on the left or the right hand side.
  • The logo should always be used in a sensible proportion to the artwork on which it’s appearing. However, ideally it shouldn’t be used at less than 15mm high on anything.
  • We have a palette of five colours. Please don’t use any others in association with our brand.
