Visual Identity Overview
- The visual identity is defined by a consistent use of the core color palette (SLS Red, SLS Blue, SLS Yellow), clear logo usage guidelines, and a unified approach to branding across uniforms, collateral, and partner materials. The brand emphasizes clarity, visibility, and positive representation, with specific instructions for logo variations, color applications, and typographic choices.

Logo Usage
- In most cases the generic logo should be used. There are two versions of the generic logo, ‘Stacked’ and ‘Flat’. The Flat logo is the preferred logo. Depending on the space and shape available the stacked version may be needed.
- The reverse version of the logo should be used when the background is too dark and the logo cannot be seen clearly.
- When the logo can only be reproduced in black and white please use the greyscale version of the logo.

- Flat logo with a locational descriptor in the naming section should not be any smaller than 45mm wide.
- The Diamond on its own should not be any smaller than 16mm.
- Flat logo with no locational descriptor should not be any smaller than 30mm.
- Stacked logo with locational descriptor should not be any smaller than 23mm wide.
- Stacked logo without locational descriptor should not be any smaller than 18mm wide.

- The red, blue and yellow which make up the logo also make up the core colour palette which is used heavily throughout collateral. The three colours also represent the core business areas; Lifesaving (red), Sport (blue), and Education (yellow).
- Where large areas of flat colour are printed the PMS spot colour inks are preferred.

- Helvetica Neue is the common font family used across all Surf Life Saving collateral.
- In most cases the regular (not condensed) version should be used. The full version of the Helvetica Neue family can be supplied in PC or Mac format.
- Verdana is the email and internet equivalent which will be universal across Mac and PC platforms. This should be used for all internal and external documents, power points, websites and email.
- This catch phrase is applied to the majority of Surf Life Saving communications. It conveys the commitment and passion of it’s members. It’s typographical treatment is more casual which is emphasised by using a hand written font. Formal documents will carry the organisation purpose rather than the slogan.
